Volume 69: Visions of Dylan with Brent Mason

In this week’s episode, we bring you our chat with Saint John musician Brent Mason!

For those of you who live in Saint John, Brent Mason is an artist you definitely heard of, whether it’s through his own music or how he helps showcase the music of others at his weekly Wednesday open mic nights at O’Leary’s.

Many may not know this, but his journey before becoming a Saint John music icon has taken him everywhere. We dive into how his musical journey started, from travelling with a carnival, opening a juice stand, and when he first heard one of his biggest musical influences, Bob Dylan. Naturally, he and Cherise fanboys/girl for a while, and it turns out, their first times hearing Dylan have some weird parallels. Dylan fans are not going to want to miss this!

Brent also fills us in on the current projects he’s working on and reveals the only other artist he’ll write songs with.

Jack Kerouac, Lowell, Following the Grateful Dead, Desert Island Discs, and so much more on this episode of Strange Grooves!

Background music by our pals Little You Little Me, to try to drown out Cait’s noisy AF neighbours.
