THE PUNK SHOW OF THE YEAR: 2,500 Fans Are flocking to Toronto for Amyl and the Sniffers
It’s all happening. The Punk Rock show of the year!
Strange Grooves is on the Move: May 12th — Toronto’s History venue will be packed full of 2,500 sweaty, smiling punk sardines ready to hang out in the pit with Amyl and the Sniffers. And we’re not alone. Fans from all across the East Coast and beyond are carpooling, flying in, and bussing it from all over Canada for this intimate show.
We’ve waited years for this. Through lockdowns and late-night vinyl spins, and a Canadian date. Now, it’s real. The Aussie punk legends are coming back to Canada for a night of pure chaos, kindness amongst buds and in the words of Iggy Pop, Raw Power. We just saw AC/DC live and couldn’t stop saying it that Bon Scott probably would’ve loved Amyl and the Sniffers. This band is everything: Rawness, Rock n Roll and Real. Just good people and we cannot honestly wait to see them for the first time live.
So we’ve got just one question: Will you be there? Will you be watching our stories? Have you seen them before?
And also: What’s your fave Sniffers tune? Is it “Hertz? “Some Mutts (Can’t Be Muzzled)”? “Guided By Angels”? Or maybe “Freaks to the Front” — fitting, since that’s where we’ll be or Me and the girls off the new album Cartoon Darkness, which you know we will be playing the entire flight.
See you at the show next week, KEEP IT STRANGE!
